A crash on Interstate 94 in Brooklyn Center involving a semi-truck led to a road closure on Friday morning as crews worked to clear a spill of construction debris. The Minnesota State Patrol reported that the incident occurred after the semi-truck hit a Honda that had lost control of the I-94 ramp, according to FOX 9,
The collision tipped the trailer over and caused it to spill its contents, which a trooper described as construction debris from a house demolition. The State Patrol confirmed that both the driver of the Honda and the semi-truck driver were transported to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. To allow for a clean-up, parts of Highway 252 to Eastbound I-94, and the northbound I-94 to Westbound were temporarily closed, as per Fox9.
The affected section of westbound I-94 between Highways 252 and 100 was reopened later on Friday afternoon. During the closure, the Minnesota Department of Transportation also issued a caution for drivers to look out for animals that might be on the roadway. The exact nature of the contents being hauled by the semi was not disclosed, as reported by MPR News.
