A driver was found shot multiple times before being involved in a multi-vehicle accident on Lee Road. According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred yesterday, at approximately 7:45 p.m. The shooting, which seemed to quickly escalate into a chaotic crash, left the driver dead shortly after being transported to an area hospital.
Initial reports suggested it was a major accident that first drew the patrol units to the site near the 14200 block of Lee Road, only to find out the shocking truth that the real cause of the fatality had to tragically unfold moments before the crash. The Sheriff's Office later determined the man was shot at Haverstock Hills apartment complex and managed to yet drive a short distance before succumbing to his injuries amidst the wreckage of the collision.
The identity of the deceased is currently withheld, pending positive identification and the grim task of notifying the next of kin. With the circumstances behind the shooting still cloaked in mystery, authorities are scrambling to put together the pieces of this tragic puzzle.
