
A grisly scene unfolded in Woodland Hills yesterday as a solo vehicle slammed into a tree, trapping the driver inside. The Los Angeles Fire Department reported to the incident at 21400 W Califa St at approximately 4:34 PM. According to LAFD, the victim required immediate assistance to be freed from the crumpled vehicle.
The aftermath of the crash prompted a shutdown of the southbound lanes of Canoga Avenue at Califa Street, causing a ripple of delay and congestion through the area. With the lanes closure, frustrated motorists were advised to seek alternative routes. Detours were made readily available to skirt around the site of the collision.
The Los Angeles Police Department's Valley Traffic Division, taking charge of the inquiries surrounding the incident, marked it as Incident #3250.
Officials recommended that those planning to traverse through #WoodlandHills monitor traffic updates through news radio broadcasts to avoid getting caught in the snarl caused by the LAFD's operations. The units responding to the scene included FS 84, Batt 17, the Valley Bureau, and Council District 3, along with several emergency and rescue operations teams.
