An 18-year-old from Stoughton has been nabbed by cops for a broad daylight shooting spree that left a man from Rhode Island nursing bullet wounds. The Saturday shootout prompted a frantic call to 911, with the perp allegedly bolting from the crossroads of Central Street and Greenwood Avenue.
Police say Marc Francois is the teen staring down a barrel of justice, facing an array of charges including armed robbery, assault and battery with a firearm, and unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device, the Boston Herald reported. The cops threw a dragnet around a condo complex, and there Francois was cornered, with a gun to boot, the law enforcement stated.
Stoughton's top cop, Police Chief Donna McNamara, laid out the sequence. After a suspect description was broadcast, officers encircled the area and hunted down Francois. McNamara said police have recovered a firearm in connection with their shooting investigation, as per WCVB.
A gunshot victim had checked himself into Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.
Francois received an order for detention with a $500,000 cash bail and is set to be arraigned on Tuesday in Stoughton District Court.
