A Dallas community was rocked this month by a deadly assault that led to a murder charge and a suspect turning himself over to the authorities. The Dallas Police Department reported responding to a distress call on the morning of December 14 in the suburban stretch of the 17600 block of Addison Road. The victim, identified as 34-year-old Gregory Nunn, was found to have been violently assailed and was subsequently rushed to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, according to the Dallas Police Department.
Once the investigation quickly unfolded, detectives zeroed in on 25-year-old Daymon Lamar Payton as the primary suspect. While a motive has yet to be fully disclosed, the stark events culminated in Payton deciding to directly turn himself in to the police the following day. At this juncture, Payton is formally charged with murder and currently resides in the Dallas County Jail.
The case, filed under number 223462-2023, is ongoing, and the Dallas Police have not released further details concerning keeping the integrity of the investigation secure.
