A wild police chase on the Northwest Freeway ended with a suspected drunk driver behind bars, authorities say. On December 15, Richard Sung allegedly led Constable Mark Herman's deputies on a pursuit after refusing to stop his vehicle. According to Constable Herman's Facebook post, the incident occurred in the 21400 block of the freeway.
The chase was brief but intense, with deputies successfully bringing the situation to a halt when they managed to stop Sung's vehicle. The driver displayed multiple signs of intoxication, and a subsequent search saw deputies find 4.1 grams of cocaine. The report describes two prior convictions for Driving While Intoxicated on Sung's record, shedding light on a pattern of reckless behavior punctuated by this latest run-in with the law.
In a statement obtained by the constable's social media account, "Richard Sung was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for Evading in Motor Vehicle, Possession of Controlled Substance and Driving While Intoxicated - 3rd Offense." The constable's office has not yet disclosed Sung's bond or court information as of their latest update.
