A teen is left to recover in a hospital bed following a shooting that erupted amid a fight near a southwest Atlanta gas station, according to authorities. Atlanta Police Department rushed to the BP gas station on the 2200 block of Cascade Road SW around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta.
The police found an 18-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. Medics whisked the victim to a local hospital; he remained conscious and was expected to survive his injuries. While officers at Atlanta Police Department's Zone 4 grapple with this case, the name of a victim or the suspected gunman has not yet been made public. The public, however, is encouraged to come forward with any information that could lead to a resolution.
The incident involved the teenager and a "known suspect." Details are sparse. At this time, authorities have remained tight-lipped about whether any arrests have been made.
WSB-TV reports the shooting ensued during a fight that had reached a fever pitch, resulting in gunfire. Without a suspect in custody and the victim's condition not fully disclosed, the investigation continues. Anyone with knowledge about the shooting is asked to reach out to the Atlanta Police Department.
