Three teenagers were hospitalized following a drive-by shooting in northeast Houston early Friday after the car they were in came under fire. According to Click2Houston, the incident took place around 1:45 a.m. in the 9100 block of Spaulding Street.

The teens were reportedly in a vehicle that was weaving across the road when a black sedan pulled up alongside them. The occupants of the sedan opened fire, striking three of the four teenagers in the car, said Houston police. The 14-year-old driver and two passengers, aged 15 and 16, were hit, while a second 15-year-old managed to escape injury, as reported by FOX 26 Houston.

The young driver was shot, leaped from the car, and was later taken to a local hospital by a person, possibly a family member or a friend. As for the other victims, they drove themselves to a nearby residence on Bywood before authorities were called to the scene. According to Lt. Willkens of the Houston Police Department, obtained by Click2Houston, all the victims are believed to have survived the injuries sustained in the shooting.

Investigators are still piecing together the events that led to the violent attack and have yet to identify any suspects involved. With bullets hitting the torso of the 14-year-old and the 16-year-old, and the 15-year-old grazed in the upper body, authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to aid in their inquiry.
