
A teenager was transported to a local hospital with injuries following a shooting incident in Dorchester. The incident, which took place Wednesday afternoon around 3 p.m. on Bellevue Street, left the young male with wounds fortunately deemed not life-threatening, according to Boston Police.
Authorities discovered the victim, a 16-year-old boy, lying injured, WHDH reported. The specifics of the event are yet to unfold. In a statement obtained by The Boston Globe, Officer Jason Villanueva confirmed there were no suspects identified, and the case remained under active scrutiny.
A neighbor recounted to NBC10 Boston hearing two gunshots before the arrival of first responders. Following the incident, police had to close the street to traffic.
In the aftermath, family members converged at the crime scene, a spectacle mirrored by local media's aerial footage of the police's coordination. According to WHDH, the area bore the signs of an investigation with crime tape and officers.
