
A serious traffic collision in Del Rey yesterday afternoon left two people trapped in the wreckage, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The incident, which occurred on Culver Boulevard, required extensive response from emergency services.
Reported just past 2 p.m., the crash scene at 13399 W Culver Bl garnered attention from multiple fire and rescue units; three individuals were involved in the accident, with two unable to free themselves from the debris, while the condition of the third patient was not immediately released making the situation seem more dire as the emergency teams scrambled to provide aid and clear the wreckage which impeded traffic and drew onlookers.
LAFD's Brian Humphrey confirmed that Fire Station 67, along with other emergency responders including Battalion 4, Engine 226, Engine 205, and Urban Search and Rescue 88 were dispatched to the location. Operational resources such as the Heavy Rescue 3 team and Emergency Medical Services were on scene to support the extraction and medical needs of those involved.
As per the Los Angeles Fire Department's notification, the incident — designated as incident number 1057 — handed media inquiry responsibility over to the LAPD West Traffic Division, who have been investigating the crash causes and overseeing the aftermath as traffic around Culver Boulevard was significantly impacted with lanes closure while both locals and commuters witnessed the flurry of emergency vehicles and the painstaking work of rescue teams dealing with the collision.
