
A deadly burst of gunfire rang out in Hawthorne last night, leaving one man dead and another injured. Law enforcement responded to a shots fired call in the 13400 block of Kornblum Avenue, only to stumble upon a grim scene – two men with gunshot wounds, one of whom would not see another day.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the Hawthorne Police Department requested their homicide detectives' expertise after officers found the victims around 8:00 p.m. Monday. The Los Angeles County Fire Department pronounced one of the male Black adults deceased at the location, while the second victim was rushed to hospital and listed in stable condition. As of now, a suspect has not been identified and no arrests have been made. The investigation by the authorities is active and ongoing.
