On Monday, at about 7:00 p.m., the Beaumont Police Department has issued an AMBER Alert for 14-year-old Seryna Ferrin, a missing teenager with special needs, last seen in the 100 block of Charlotte Drive. Described as a girl with autism, Ferrin is said to have the mental capacity of an 8-year-old, lacking access to any electronics, including internet service and social media, according to FOX San Antonio.
Seryna has been described as being 5'1" tall and weighing approximately 104 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. Notably, she was last seen wearing pink pajama pants, a white tank top, and carrying a blue backpack—the details of which are essential in aiding the public to identify her. Interestingly, the police also note that the young girl has no known friends or acquaintances outside her immediate family and caseworker, and that she is homeschooled, FOX 4 News reports.
As the search intensifies, law enforcement continues to disseminate her description across various platforms. The hope is that, with the public's assistance, Ferrin will be located and returned to the safety of her home. If anyone has seen a child matching Seryna's description or has information about her last known whereabouts, they are implored to contact the authorities immediately.
The Beaumont Police Department can be reached at 409-832-1234. Community members are asked to keep an eye out and report any sightings or information that might lead to Seryna's safe return
