The Long Beach Police Department has issued an urgent appeal to the public to assist in locating Chanty Sarin, a 43-year-old woman reported missing since Christmas morning. Sarin, identified as an at-risk individual due to her medical and mental health conditions, was last seen at her residence on the 4000 block of Blackthorne Avenue in Long Beach, her whereabouts since that time remaining a mystery.
Authorities noted that Sarin has previously walked away from home, although she was found in the vicinity shortly thereafter. This time, however, she has seemingly vanished without her mobile phone, vehicle, or any form of tracking device, making it significantly harder to quickly identify her location.
Described as an Asian female standing at 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, Sarin was reportedly wearing a green jacket, black hoodie, and black tights when she last made contact. The Long Beach Police Department has yet to establish her intended destination or the amount of cash she may have taken with her.
The public is being asked to keep an alert eye and report any sightings directly to the LBPD Missing Persons Detail, with the avenue to do so also available through Police Dispatch. For those opting to maintain their anonymity, tips can also be submitted through "LA Crime Stoppers" with their provided contact methods.
Further details and a picture of Sarin are available on the Long Beach Police Department's official website.
