On the grim milestone of the second anniversary of Lina Khil’s disappearance, the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) released new video footage in a continued effort to uncover any tips that might lead to the missing child. Lina was last seen at a playground in the Villas del Cabo apartment complex on December 20, 2021, as shown in the recently shared video.
The video, obtained by a resident's surveillance camera, depicts a simpler time where Lina played with her mother and younger brother before her mysterious vanishing act. SAPD officials, seeking to bolster investigative transparency and community involvement, urge anyone with information to step forward. The Khil family, supported by advocates and investigators alike, remains hopeful yet burdened by the lack of progress. "It's frustrating to see that this family is going through this and experiencing this frustration, as they are right now," Pamela Allen CEO of Eagle's Flight Advocacy and Outreach, conveyed to KSAT.
Organizations have joined the effort to locate Lina, including Project Absentis, led by former FBI agent Abel Peña. Peña is >"100% certain"< that someone knows what transpired that fateful day. The prayers for Lina's safe return were echoed at a vigil held on the anniversary of her disappearance, highlighting the community's solidarity with the Khil family's enduring sorrow, according to a KSAT interview. Lina's father shared his agony: "It was really painful for me, and, especially, I couldn’t tell my wife that today is the one year. She’s in really bad shape, and she was crying all day."
