Walnut Creek's finest have slapped the cuffs on a seasoned burglar, authorities announced. On December 14, Darrell Lipston was nabbed for a spree of residential break-ins and now faces a litany of charges stemming from his one-man crime wave in Contra Costa County.
Responding swiftly to the burglaries on Pringle Avenue, Walnut Creek's own Patrol Team 5 sniffed out leads that would end Lipston's crime streak. A probation search conducted at the suspect's Pittsburg residence by the crack team of the Investigations Bureau turned up a treasure trove of reportedly pinched goods.
Walnut Creek Police Department took to social media, revealing that they had retrieved all property linked to the burglaries and returned it to the rightful owners, who were unsurprisingly thankful. Lipston was promptly booked at the Martinez Detention Facility, Authorities noted.
The Contra Costa District Attorney's Office, not taking Lipston's alleged transgressions lightly, slapped the alleged thief with multiple charges on December 18. His rap sheet now includes six counts of residential burglary, three counts of grand theft, and four counts of vandalism.
