Wareham, MA became the focus of a police sting operation last Tuesday when officials cracked down on a suspected stash house for stolen recreational vehicles. The Wareham Police Criminal Investigation Division, assisted by local officers, the Wareham Department of Natural Resources, and the Massachusetts Environmental Police, executed a search warrant that led to the discovery and seizure of fourteen ATVs and dirt bikes.
In a joint effort, aimed at clipping the wings of property crime in the area, authorities unearthed a cache of two-wheelers and four-wheelers, reportedly pinched from unsuspecting owners. Recovered in the raid were machines varying from the muscular 2014 Honda TRX450R to the sprightly 2001 Suzuki JR80. The operation has returned two of the stolen vehicles to their owners, snagged from Fall River, MA, and New Haven, CT, according to the Wareham Police Facebook post.
Still seeking justice and closure, the police are calling on the community to help identify the rightful claimants of the remaining dozen bikes, left nameless and unclaimed. The list includes sought-after models like a lean 1997 Yamaha CW50/Zuma and a potent 2007 Honda TRX450ER. Each bike tells a story, and for the twelve still silent, the final chapter remains unwritten.
Authorities urge anyone with information on these high-octane orphans to contact the Criminal Investigation Division at (508) 295-1206. Detective Lieutenant Michael Smith leads the charge, ready at his email [email protected] to field tips that may lead to further restitution. The search for answers continues full throttle as Wareham Police work to steer these stolen rides back home.
