A blaze tore through David's Western Wear in Weatherford on Christmas Eve, racking up damages estimated at over $50,000. Weatherford Fire Rescue responded to the emergency call at the South Main Street location, where they encountered flames erupting from the building's parapet wall and awning. Per the fire officials, the fire is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault and is considered accidental, as reported by Ground.
Thankfully, the fire did not breach the interior of the store and no injuries were reported. The store was closed for the holiday and secured at the time of the incident. Store owner David Isham expressed his gratitude for his staff's speedy response to the crisis. "I also want to say thank you to many of my great staff that dropped everything on Christmas Eve to go up and see what they could do to help. I hate that anyone had to sacrifice their Christmas Eve but I am so grateful," Isham stated, per FOX 4 News.
Isham's determination to restore his business was clear. He conveyed an eagerness to rebuild and reopen, ensuring that this setback would be but a temporary hitch. No detailed timeline for the restoration efforts has been released yet.
