The holiday blues hit Wright County with a flurry of criminal activity, as the Wright County Sheriff's Office reported many arrests in the days leading up to Christmas. The mood in Wright County was far from festive, as law enforcement officers had to respond to a spate of DWI charges, controlled substance violations, and domestic assault cases among others.
The office's activity report, made public on December 26th, detailed an extensive list of misconduct that spread across the county. Among the multiple incidents was the arrest of Jonathan Correll, a 22-year-old from Elk River, who faced charges of 3rd Degree DWI on December 17th. The record showed a total of seven DWI arrests.
The wave of arrests included charges for serious offenses such as terroristic threats, domestic assaults, and identity theft. For instance, 46-year-old Raleigh Marble Jr. from Rockford was arrested not once, but twice within a span of four days, once for check forgery and later for controlled substance possession. According to the Wright County Sheriff's Office report, several individuals faced domestic assault charges.
Amidst the holiday chaos, the county also experienced its share of motor vehicle incidents, with 32 property damage accidents and five car-deer accidents. On top of the traffic violations and personal injury accidents, 11 individuals were busted for school bus stop arm violations.
While the news paints a bleak picture, one can only hope that the swift actions taken by the Wright County Sheriff's Office signal a commitment to uphold law and order, and perhaps deter similar incidents in the future.
