A devastating car crash claimed the life of a 29-year-old woman in Moreno Valley this past weekend. In a report by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, a Nissan Altima was said to have veered out of control, slamming into a power pole at the intersection of Eucalyptus Avenue and Sweetspice Street. Maritza Flores of San Bernardino was pronounced dead at the scene following the collision on Saturday evening.
The incident, logged as file number MV240060268, occurred at approximately 6:50 p.m. Emergency services rushed to the site, where they found the solo vehicle involved in the crash. Despite efforts to quickly save Flores, the impact proved too severe. According to a statement, deputies along with Cal Fire paramedics responded urgently, but ultimately, they couldn't manage to reverse the tragic outcome.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is currently investigating the causes that led to the accident. They have yet to release detailed information about the factors contributing to the crash, pending a deep dive into the gathered evidence. A temporary closure of the section of Eucalyptus Avenue between Kitching Street and Raenette Way followed the accident to facilitate this process.
Officials have recognized Flores as the victim following notification of her next of kin. The Riverside County Coroner’s Office released her name in a report and detailed that the time of death was 7:05 p.m., just mere minutes after the reported time of injury. The location of her death and injury was confirmed to be on Eucalyptus Avenue.
