An intense search for a 7-year-old child who was abducted during an auto theft in Grand Prairie came to a relieving end after officials announced the child had been found safe. The Grand Prairie Police, alongside the Texas Department of Public Safety - North Texas Region, confirmed the good news, expressing gratitude to the community for its support. The situation began to unfold when the Amber Alert was issued for the young child, who was inside a white 2019 Kia Soul stolen from the QT gas station at 2215 N. O'Connor. According to the alert, the vehicle was last spotted headed westbound on E. Main and Hensley. The child, whose identity was withheld for privacy, was last seen wearing a black puffy jacket, black pants, and black crocs. Authorities had urged the public to keep an eye out but to avoid making direct contact and instead call 911 with any information.
Giving a glimpse into the relief sweeping the community, a spokesperson for the police department thanked the public for their vigilance. "ALERT CANCELLED! THE CHILD HAS BEEN FOUND SAFELY," the department announced.
