In a daring crackdown, Ventura County authorities have nabbed a trio of alleged thieves charged with a spate of sophisticated home burglaries. According to a press release from the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, the suspects identified as Tomas Moran-Martinez, 24, Fernando Caceres, 48, and Yanara Moncada-Rojas, 26, were collared after reportedly hitting homes in Thousand Oaks and surrounding areas.

Law enforcement connected the suspects to multiple burglaries that took place last November and December in affluent neighborhoods, where a traffic stop gone wrong on January 6th led to the retrieval of burglary tools and a high-speed chase, during which Moran-Martinez and Caceres were arrested after a bag stuffed with the incriminating gear was discarded mid-pursuit, the vehicle was later stopped and the duo unsuccessfully fled on foot.

The Ventura County Sheriff's Office detailed that the pursuit and arrests were part of a joint effort that included the Thousand Oaks Detective Bureau/Career Criminals Unit, the Thousand Oaks Special Enforcement Unit, and Thousand Oaks Patrol Services. Subsequently, on January 18th, detective work led to a North Hollywood residence where a search warrant revealed more stolen items and resulted in Moncada-Rojas's arrest.

The suspects, now facing a slew of charges including residential burglary, conspiracy to commit residential burglary, possession of burglary tools, and resisting arrest; remain in a legal bind as Moran-Martinez and Caceres are being held at Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility on an imposing $500,000 bail, meanwhile, Moncada-Rojas was released on a $20,000 bail and is expected to show up in Ventura County Superior Court on January 31st as stated in the sheriff's office report.
