An urgent search is underway for a 12-year-old San Antonio boy, who vanished on Sunday, sparking police concern and community alarm. The San Antonio Police Department has issued an Amber Alert after Linkin Hernandez went missing from the city’s Southwest Side, last seen just before 8 p.m near Loop 410.

Standing 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighing in at 98 pounds, Linkin has brown hair, brown eyes, and was last seen sporting black sweats, a blue shirt, gray sweats, and white shoes, as reported by Fox San Antonio. Police are probing the possibility that the pre-teen may have been abducted by someone in a black sedan, an unknown vehicle without a traceable license plate number so far, according to details provided by KENS 5.

Authorities have been combing the area near the 8500 block of Timber Wolf Street, close to Old Pearsall Road, where the boy was last seen. The search for Linkin has united law enforcement and the community in a race against time to locate the missing youth.

San Antonio Police have underscored the severity of the situation, reminding the public that harboring a runaway child is a criminal offense, and can result in fines up to $4,000 or a year in jail. If anyone has information regarding Linkin's whereabouts, they are urged to contact the San Antonio Police Missing Person Unit at (210) 207-7660.
