An early morning rollover crash in Maplewood, Minnesota has claimed the life of a man from Anchorage, Alaska. The tragic incident occurred at approximately 2:25 a.m. on Saturday when the vehicle, driven by a 37-year-old man, lost control at high speed along northbound Highway 61, near County Road C, reported by Fox 9.

After veering off the road and into a ditch, the 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse rolled over, ejecting both Vang and his 31-year-old female passenger, the Minnesota State Patrol said. Both occupants, who were discovered to be not wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident, were transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul; however, Her Vang succumbed to his injuries while the passenger survived with injuries described as non-life-threatening, according to Bring Me The News.
The road conditions were noted to be snowy and icy, which contributed to the difficulty in maneuvering the vehicle, authorities have stated. Alcohol was not considered to be a contributing factor in this incident.
