Gun-wielding thieves made off with a white Ford F250 in Redwood City after threatening its owner who caught them in the act. The robbery took place in the wee hours of January 9 on the 3700 block of Rolison Road, and cops are on the hunt for the suspects, according to the Redwood City Police Department.
The victim heard noises suggesting a break-in and went outside to confront the culprits. That's when one of the suspects drew a handgun, menacingly telling the owner to "Stop" before they fled with the vehicle. An accomplice car, described as a light-colored Toyota RAV4 Highlander, was seen idling nearby and is thought to have followed the stolen truck as the suspects made their getaway. There was no mention of injuries during the incident, according to the Redwood City Police Department.
Lieutenant Nick Perna, Investigations Commander at the Redwood City Police Department, detailed that the first suspect is described as an African American adult male, slender build, early to mid-twenties, dressed in black and wearing a black balaclava. The second suspect's race hasn't been identified, but he was also in black with a similar face covering. The Police Department has actively engaged in the investigation, seeking any leads.
Authorities are reaching out to the public for any information that might help reel in the suspects.
