
The city's weather takes a turn towards the cooler side with patchy frost after 2 a.m. tonight and a low dipping around 31, as reported by the National Weather Service. The frost is set to linger into early Thursday before the sun climbs, pushing temperatures up near 59 degrees. Calm winds are expected to gradually shift west come morning.
The forecast, also announced, indicates that Atlanta residents will experience mostly sunny skies Friday, with the mercury rising steadily to a comfortable high near 64. However, temperatures will once again drop to a chilly 40 degrees on a partly cloudy Friday night, challenging those to warmly bundle up who might have enjoyed the day's warmth with abandon.
Providing a glimpse into the weekend, weather.gov suggests a continuation of sunny weather for Saturday, with highs around 63 degrees. But don't be misled by clear skies in the daytime, as Saturday night brings a shift with a 20 percent chance of showers after 1 a.m. and increasing clouds, leading to a low around 45.
On Sunday, showers are forecasted with a high probability – an 80 percent chance, that is likely continuing into the evening and an over 70 percent chance of precipitation keeping skies mostly cloudy and temperatures hovering around 44 degrees. And while Monday, is partly sunny, looming 50 percent chance of showers remains.
