Marrying the iconic tunes of The Beatles with spirited bluegrass flair, the trio is set to perform on March 15 with the show kicking off at 8:00 PM. Tickets are up for grabs at $27 a pop, and fans can snag their spot at this unique musical mash-up, as per the City of Garland.
The band, which kicked things off in 2003, is the brainchild of Dallas studio musicians Dave Walser, George Anderson, and Milo Deering. They hit a chord with audiences playing gigs from the ever-drizzly Seattle to the emerald pastures of Ireland up until 2011, before deciding to take what turned into an 11-year hiatus. The collective sparked back to life in 2022 and, by the looks of it, has been itching to get back on stage.
Walser brings his bluegrass and Beatles guitar stylings to the group, Anderson adds his jazz, classical, and R&B-influenced bass lines, and Deering? Well, he’s the ringmaster of strings, flaunting his prowess on guitar, mandolin, fiddle, and pretty much anything else you can pluck, pick, or strum. What spawned as a "thinking outside the box" studio experiment, has evolved into a full-fledged love affair with the Fab Four's timeless hits wrapped in the cozy blanket of Americana.
Residents of Garland and beyond are invited to take a "Magical Mystery Tour" as Beatlegras promises a night that celebrates the genius of The Beatles without mimicking their legendary sound note for note. The Plaza Theater, located at 521 W State Street Garland, TX 75040, is set to provide the perfect backdrop for an evening of toe-tapping, string-plucking fun.
