In a substantial crackdown on local narcotics operations, Boston Police snagged a Dorchester man on serious drug trafficking charges following the execution of two search warrants. According to a statement from the Boston Police Department, officers from the District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) Drug Control Unit, in collaboration with their counterparts from District B-2 (Roxbury), apprehended 38-year-old Marco Natera in Dorchester.
The team discovered a trove of illegal substances, granting themselves a significant win in their ongoing war against drugs. The seizure included 211 small plastic bags of Fentanyl, 3 large plastic bags containing a total of 652 grams of the same potent opioid, 16 plastic bags of cocaine weighing in at 14 grams, and an assortment of drug paraphernalia. Not to mention the modest sum of $165 in cash, which most certainly was the least of Natera's worries at the time of his capture.
Facing multiple charges, Natera's list of alleged criminal activities is not short. He is charged with Trafficking Class A (Fentanyl) Over 200 Grams and Possession With Intent to Distribute Class B (Cocaine), as reported by police department officials. Compounding his troubles, it was noted that he had two active warrants for his arrest out of Lawrence District Court on similar offenses related to Class A substances.
Natera now awaits arraignment at Roxbury District Court. His capture represents just a single chapter in a long-running saga that pits law enforcement against a tide of illicit drugs threatening Boston's neighborhoods.
