The Boston Wine Expo, a staple event for vino enthusiasts, is set in Park Plaza Hotel once again. Over the first weekend of March, the expo is anticipating a crowd of more than 4,000 attendees keen to swirl, sniff, and sip offerings from over 100 wineries. Since taking over in 2018, Raffaele Scalzi, the show director, has made significant changes to the expo's format, working hard to ferment a more exclusive and quality-driven experience.
According to a report by Boston Herald, the overhaul of the event has reduced the previous 400 vendors to create a denser, more focused tasting experience. Straight through the day, to prevent attendees from drinking, the expo now features split sessions across its two-day schedule.
Scalzi told Boston Herald, “We hit that 4,000 attendee projection last year, so we know that there was an audience here in Boston,” Scalzi added, "I would say to come and try all your favorite wines and find something new".
The event is not just about indulging in a glass (or several) of good wine, it's also an educational journey across the vineyards of the world. Featuring tasting class events including "Intro to Wine Tasting" and "For The Love of Sake", these sessions are designed to educate while they entertain, costing $65 each.
As detailed by the event's official page, the expo strives for exceptional customer service and works to ensure personalized interactions between vendors and attendees. H
