In a swift response to a call concerning a residential burglary, Brentwood Police Department apprehended two suspects this weekend, thanks to the homeowner's keen observation and prompt actions. The crime occurred around 8AM Saturday in the tony neighborhood of the 2900 block of Spanish Bay. After catching them in the act, the homeowner, who had been in pursuit of the suspects, played a critical role in alerting authorities and tracking down the culprits.
According to the City of Brentwood Police Department's statement, officers arriving on the scene found 27-year-old Jasmine Miller of Vacaville seated in a suspicious vehicle nearby. Miller was immediately taken into custody. Despite an extensive search that included drone surveillance and assistance from a Pittsburg PD K-9 Unit, the second suspect initially gave the police a slip.
Perseverance paid off a few hours later when the victim once again contacted Dispatch upon sighting the male suspect in the vicinity. Police officers swiftly flooded the area and arrested 36-year-old Wesley Bush of Suisun City.
Investigators discovered the homeowner's stolen goods in the automobile where Miller was apprehended, and the property was subsequently returned. Both suspects, Bush and Miller, face charges of Burglary, Conspiracy to Commit a Crime, as well as Possession of drugs and Drug Paraphernalia. Additional allegations include tampering with the residence's power lines. Reflecting on the incident, the Brentwood PD credited the homeowner's determined and quick thinking as pivotal in nabbing the suspects.
