Central Health, the entity tasked with delivering health care to the low-income residents of Travis County, has ushered in 2024 with a shake-up at the top, naming Dr. Patrick Lee as its new President and CEO, effective Jan. 29, according to an announcement on their official website Central Health.
Following a planned exit by his predecessor, Mike Geeslin, who ended his seven-year stewardship on December 31, Dr. Lee will spearhead the hospital district as it embarks on a transformative health equity plan aimed at bolstering services and staffing levels.
While he gears up to tackle the task at hand Lee echoed his commitment in Central Health's press release: "With deep listening, focus, and strong partnerships, we will aim to significantly reduce health disparities in Travis County on my watch," he stated confidently, as per Central Health.
It's a pivotal year for an entity that's relatively young by institutional standards and is on the cusp of providing direct care, Dr. Lee seems poised to leverage resources and flexibility to push Central Health towards new frontiers in healthcare provision in Travis County.
