A Concord Police Department officer took quick action in apprehending a suspect driving a stolen vehicle in the downtown area, resulting in the recovery of a loaded stolen gun with extended magazines. The routine check that led to this high-risk traffic stop could have possibly averted a serious threat to public safety.
According to a post on the Concord Police Department's Facebook page, an officer responded to a felony vehicle alert when the suspect’s vehicle was located. The officer made the stop, and the driver, taken into custody following the traffic stop, had a stolen, loaded firearm that was discovered during the arrest.
The department took to social media to narrate the incident, boasting of the teamwork and the protective measure the arrest signified for the community. "Following a high-risk stop, the driver was taken into custody," Concord PD detailed in the social media announcement.
