Commuters in Dallas faced unexpected delays Tuesday when a stalled vehicle forced the closure of a major highway exit. The westbound Interstate 20 exit to Cockrell Hill Road was shut down resulting in a clog that lasted until the vehicle could be towed away, the Dallas County Sheriff's Department announced.
Dallas Sheriff's Traffic Deputies, grappling with the mechanical casualty, dashed to the scene, attempting to keep the rush-hour traffic from descending into chaos. "The westbound I-20 exit ramp to Cockrell Hill Rd. closed at this time till the vehicle can be removed", according to the Dallas County Sheriff's Department.
As night fell, the exit ramp whispered back to life, with the Dallas Sheriff's Department confirming that normal traffic patterns resumed following the removal of the obstacle vehicle.
