
A deadly altercation on Fawn Valley Drive in Dallas has claimed the life of 27-year-old Randy Mota-Bastida and wounded another man. Officers were dispatched to the scene of a shooting on January 23rd at approximately 5:35 PM. The conflict, which escalated to gunfire, took place in the 3500 block of the residential area, according to the Dallas Police Department.
The initial findings of the investigation revealed that an argument had broken out between Mota-Bastida and the alleged shooter, 22-year-old Jonathan Gutierrez. At some point during the fight, Gutierrez is said to have rapidly pulled a gun and opened fire on Mota-Bastida and another individual. Despite being rushed to the hospital for emergency care, Mota-Bastida's injuries proved fatal. The second victim, whom police have not identified, is reported to be in stable condition, as per the Dallas Police Department.
In the aftermath of the incident, detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for Jonathan Gutierrez, who is now wanted on a charge of murder. The Dallas Police Department has classified the case under number 012346-2024 and it remains actively under investigation. Law enforcement authorities have not released details regarding the motive or circumstances leading up to the shooting.
As the search for Gutierrez continues, detectives are calling upon the community to come forward with any information that may assist in the case.
