
A teen was arrested in connection to a double homicide that left two 15-year-old boys dead in an area outside a Dallas library. Authorities have charged 17-year-old Obbie Perez with capital murder following the Dec. 30 shooting that occurred just before 5:30 p.m. on the 6100 block of Mountain Creek Parkway, as reported by The Dallas Morning News.
Police officers arrived at the scene near Eagle Ford Drive to find the two teenagers with gunshot wounds in a car. One of the teens, identified as Angel Solis by the Dallas County medical examiner, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other, Elijah Martinez, succumbed to his injuries at Methodist Hospital. Perez was taken into custody on Friday. However, details regarding what led investigators to Perez or the nature of his relationship with the victims have not been shared, according to FOX 4 News.
Jail records indicate that Perez was booked on Thursday morning, with bail set at $2 million. The case has roused concerns in the community, as questions linger about the circumstances that led to the fatal encounter between the youths. As the investigation continues, officials are tight-lipped, releasing no additional information on the connection between Perez and the deadly shooting.
