A Dallas woman's quiet night was abruptly disrupted by a stray bullet piercing through her Uptown apartment wall, just inches from where she stood. Vanessa Sierra described the harrowing moment when she thought her window had shattered at around 2:08 AM, only to find later it was a gunshot. "I didn't know what to do because I live by myself and for like 10 minutes I just stood still very quiet," Sierra said, as reported by FOX 4 News.
Sierra's encounter with the disturbing event was compounded by confusion when, initially unable to spot any damage, she attempted to go back to sleep. "When I woke up in the morning, that's when I saw it was, like, a gunshot. Because I noticed there was a bunch of white stuff all over the floor," Sierra recalled. The impact that a bullet could have on a human body was a chilling perspective that Sierra couldn't ignore, per FOX 4 News.
This close call has heightened Sierra's concern for her safety, and she's now expressing paranoia when it comes to even doing something as routine as sleeping. In a video of the apartment damage that has since gone viral with nearly 170,000 views on TikTok, Sierra articulated her fears of a repeated incident. "You just never know where it could be at, where it's going to hit you," she explained, as per TikTok.
