A heart-stopping scene unfolded in downtown Los Angeles when a woman desperately clung to the hood of a moving car, after a group of dognappers snatched her precious French Bulldog, Onyx. The harrowing incident was announced by the LAPD Central Division, urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.

The daring daylight theft occurred while Ali Zacharias was dining in front of Whole Foods near W. 8th Street and S. Grand Avenue. According to an NBC Los Angeles report, Zacharias said she lunged at the thieves' vehicle to prevent them from escaping with Onyx, who sports white fur with black spots and is distinctive for having two different eye colors. In her pleas, she said, "I just wanna say, if you need help or something, you can just ask for it. You don't have to go steal my dog, that's my baby I can't give that to you," Ali Zacharias told NBC Los Angeles.

Footage of the incident shared by Los Angeles Scanner on X post shows the woman holding on for life, as the white Kia Forte sped away with Onyx inside. Witnesses were left in shock as they watched the desperate owner's act of bravery.

While reports confirm the owner was not injured, the search for the suspects and the stolen dog intensified. The LAPD has completed a report for the victim and is actively seeking leads on the whereabouts of the dognappers. Zacharias was able to describe the suspect's vehicle, which is a white Kia Forte, in the hopes that this information would lead to Onyx's safe return.
