Two individuals from East Point have been hit with charges for their role in a child trafficking operation, Attorney General Chris Carr announced. Denorris Hutchinson, 35, and Natasha Bridges, 35, are accused of trafficking two underage girls for sexual servitude, a probe that stemmed from a multi-agency rescue mission dubbed "Operation Not Forgotten."
Hutchinson and Bridges reportedly played a part in the exploitation of the victims, one of whom was a 17-year-old girl recovered from a Fulton County hotel back in 2020. The girl had been missing from Kansas City, Missouri. According to a report by WSB-TV, the Attorney General’s Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit led the investigation, which, unearthed Hutchinson's and Bridges' alleged crimes of harboring, transporting, the victims and selling them for sex.
Since the first victim’s discovery, 13 people have been charged in connection with the case. The diligent investigation further identified a second underage girl, a 15-year-old, whom Hutchinson is also alleged to have trafficked. These developments underscore a persistent scourge that the Attorney General's office is determined to stamp out, "Our work doesn’t stop there,” Carr said, as quoted by the Morgan County Citizen. “Since her recovery three years ago, we have continued to pour over every lead to identify any additional buyers and sellers. Now, we have not only brought a new case but we have also located a second underage victim, and we will keep fighting to ensure that justice is served.”
The joint operation, spanning multiple agencies in Georgia, emphasizes the severity of child trafficking in the state—shedding light on the dark corners where innocence is traded for profit. Hutchinson was apprehended on October 11, 2023, and Bridges was taken into custody on October 26, 2023, with assistance from the Clayton County Police Department. The arrests and the continuous effort by law enforcement to follow leads and nail down perpetrators send a clear message that Georgia is actively confronting the child trafficking dilemma that plagues not just states, but nations.
