An early morning ruckus upended a West Side neighborhood after a driver lost control and barreled into a family's home, according to San Antonio authorities. The incident, which took place in the 2800 block of Morales Street, left the family shaken but unharmed, mirroring the driver's fortune of escaping serious injury.
The San Antonio Police Department said that just before the clock struck 4 a.m., a male driver attempted to overtake another vehicle at a dangerous clip. It was during this reckless gambit on North Hamilton Avenue, KSAT reported, that the man lost control of his vehicle, which subsequently plowed through the residence's side before rolling over into an unwelcome stop.
Responders from the San Antonio Police and Fire Departments, along with CPS Energy and EMS units, hurried to the scene. FOX San Antonio mentioned that occupants of the home were alarmingly jolted awake but managed to exit the structure without harm. The driver's condition paralleled their fortune, walking away from what could have been a deadly mishap, injury-free.
Waiting for CPS Energy to cut the gas supply, firefighters stood by, prepared to inspect and secure the residence to deem it safe for the family's return. SAPD has confirmed that alcohol was not a contributing factor in the incident, leaving the driver's charges, if any, hanging in uncertainty.
