
Firefighters quickly contained a fire that erupted in a Santa Paula townhome Monday evening, authorities said. The Ventura County Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire in the 100 block of East Ventura Street at the Lobero townhomes, according to a post from @VCFD_PIO.

Upon arrival at the scene, crews discovered flames billowing from a second-floor unit, the fire was swiftly knocked down by 5:13 pm, during the blaze firefighters contained the fire to one unit, preventing it from spreading to adjacent homes. Officials reported that there were no injuries and crews worked diligently on overhaul to ensure full suppression of the fire, as the Santa Paula Police and other County Ventura and Ventura City fire departments supported the operations.
No residents were harmed during the incident and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation, with local authorities yet to provide an official statement on the potential source of the blaze. Representatives from the Ventura County Fire Department commended the rapid response of the firefighters which limited structural damage and averted any potential casualties.
