The streets of Los Angeles witnessed another brazen act of violence as a food delivery service driver became the latest victim of a callous carjacking incident, the LAPD reported. The crime took place on the evening of January 15, around 9:50 p.m., in the vicinity of 10th Street and Plymouth Avenue, shattering the quiet of the neighborhood.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department's Newsroom, the delivery driver left unnamed for safety considerations, reported being followed upon collecting a meal destined for a customer. The following vehicle, a newer model black SUV, forced the driver's vehicle to a stop. Two male suspects sprang out, their aims clear and threatening. Brandishing a firearm, they commanded the driver out of his car and proceeded to strip away his sense of security along with his wallet and keys. Then, without a moment's hesitation, they seized his 2013 white Hyundai Sonata and fled into the shadowy grid of the city streets.
LAPD's Wilshire Robbery Detectives are in full pursuit of the investigation, trailing the scant leads left in the wake of this crime. The victim's vehicle remains missing and at large somewhere in the endless expanse of the city. The assailants, described as Hispanic males between the ages of 20 to 25, have evaded immediate capture, and no descriptions were given for the other two suspects who played their part from within the suspect vehicle.
Detective A. Aguayo from the Wilshire Division, leading the charge, has appealed for the public's aid.
