Authorities have apprehended four individuals following a car crash near a gas station on San Antonio's South Side. The crash occurred during a covert surveillance operation conducted by multiple law enforcement agencies. The incident took place around 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of Ramsey Road and San Pedro Avenue.

Under the cloak of darkness, officers witnessed a man, armed and masked, exiting a vehicle before entering a nearby store. The man eventually departed the store without causing harm, a detail noted by KSAT. Law enforcement believed an attempted robbery might have been underway but was ultimately aborted. It was during this stakeout that officials discovered the vehicle was stolen and chose to proceed to tail the car using the Eagle Helicopter and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers, as police said.

The suspects led authorities on a chase across the South Side, eventually making their way north, before crashing their vehicle near a QT convenience store. In the aftermath of the accident, all four suspects fled from the scene on foot. Their escape was short-lived, however, as a coordinated response by SWAT, the covert operations team, Texas DPS, SAPD, the Eagle helicopter, and traffic units led to their swift capture.

Investigators retrieved two firearms from the crashed vehicle as well as other items. One of the apprehended suspects required medical evaluation on the scene by the San Antonio Fire Department, detailed in a report by Inter News Cast. No injuries were reported during the incident, and while the suspects identities and full list of charges are yet to be disclosed, their attempted flight from justice was thwarted before more damage could be done.
