Residents planning to take a dip in the FAC Indoor Aquatic Center will have to put their swim caps on hold. The Frisco facility is shutting its doors temporarily for maintenance starting this Saturday, January 27. The center is expected to remain closed through Monday, February 12, putting a temporary stop to several programs including open and lap swims, as well as water exercise classes.
The closure will disrupt the routines of fitness enthusiasts and learners alike. The Learn to Swim team, grappling with the challenges posed by the sudden closure, is reaching out to participants in swim lessons for levels 3-7 with "more details and next steps," according to the City of Frisco. Private lesson swimmers will also be contacted directly by their instructors for alternative arrangements.
While the inconvenience is apparent, the aquatic center's staff is focused on ensuring the safety and long-term usability of the facility. In an empathetic gesture, the city's announcement sympathized with patrons, stating, "We apologize for the inconvenience." They extended their sentiments, expressing eagerness for the community's return to the pools: "We look forward to when y'all can swim again in the indoor pools" as per the City of Frisco.
Local swimmers are now left to look for alternative venues or to temporarily suspend their aquatic activities. As the center embarks on its unscheduled hiatus, the community awaits the resumption of their water-bound routines with patience. Meanwhile, the staff assures that the pause is only a brief interlude in the aquatic center’s commitment to facilitating physical well-being and learning the strokes that conquer the water.
