The planned funeral for Savanah Soto, an 18-year-old pregnant woman, and her unborn son, Fabian, has been postponed due to inclement weather conditions, reports say. Initially set for January 15, the services are now to be held on January 21st at Sunset Funeral Home, with the viewing and burial services to remain private for family only. However, the public will be able to pay their respects during the rosary set for 7:00 p.m. Fox San Antonio detailed the schedule changes.
While the community prepares to finally lay to rest the young woman and her child, law enforcement continues to justly seek resolution in this heart-wrenching case. A third arrest has been made related to the brutal slaying of Soto, her boyfriend Matthew Guerra, and her unborn child. Myrta Romanos, 47, faces felony charges, including tampering with evidence and concealing a human corpse. Romanos is connected to this tragic story through her stepson, Christopher Preciado, who stands accused of the horrific act of violence that ended the lives of Soto and Guerra. This development in the case was reported by Fox San Antonio.
The sorrowful discovery of Soto and Guerra occurred on December 26, when they were found in Guerra's car with gunshot wounds at a San Antonio apartment complex. The brutal reality had set in shortly after Soto was reported missing on December 22, just before she was scheduled to have labor induced. The investigation into the deaths suggests a drug deal may have led to the shootings, authorities indicated.
Soto's family, dealing with grief and delays, has rescheduled her memorial and burial services. A mass to honor her memory took place earlier today at St. John's Church, as reported by KSAT. The family had to change the original plans due to unpredictable weather.
