Haribo, the brand synonymous with gummi bears and glee, has expanded its horizons beyond tantalizing taste buds to setting world records. In a recent achievement, the candy behemoth crafted a mosaic from more than 150,000 gummy bears, breaking the Guinness World Record for the largest gummy mosaic. This sweet spectacle was assembled by 300 diligent contributors, including Haribo employees, their families, and local community partners.

The record-breaking feat was orchestrated at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in Pleasant Prairie, home to Haribo's inaugural U.S. production plant. A team spent four painstaking hours arranging the gummi bears on pre-made acrylic trays that mapped out the design, as reported by FOX San Antonio. The end result — a vibrant 353.1 square foot emblem of Haribo's iconic Goldbear.

Not just content with breaking records, Haribo has also launched the #HOWiHARIBO fan art contest, encouraging gummi enthusiasts to flaunt their artistic flair. The contest, inspired by the myriad ways consumers engage with the brand’s variety of treats, is a platform for imaginative expression using Haribo products. Participants are invited to post their gummi creations on Instagram to vie for prizes, including a year's supply of Haribo gummies, branded merchandise, and a grand prize of $5,000 in cash.

"We've seen countless ways our consumers have felt like kids again while playing with our over 25 varieties of HARIBO treats, like Goldbears, Starmix and Twin Snakes, and it inspired us to create our own remarkable version of gummi art. We hope this larger-than-life mosaic brings smiles to our fans' faces and encourages them to continue to show us their creativity through the #HOWiHARIBO contest in 2024," Vice President of Marketing at HARIBO of America, Seth Klugherz expressed in a statement by Haribo's official website. With submissions accepted until September 30, 2024, the contest is expected to unearth a spectrum of gummi masterpieces.
