Thieves hit a Chino Hills Wells Fargo yesterday, making off with a bundle while waving a gun at shocked bank employees. Around 11:30 a.m., a lone bandit stormed the bank at 15860 Soquel Canyon Parkway and put the place on tilt with a demanded haul of cold, hard cash, in a heist as brazen as it was swift, authorities said.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner's Office confirmed the armed stick-up, with the perp getting away before deputies could slap the cuffs on; the suspect, identity unknown, made their getaway and has left lawmen sniffing for clues and scrounging for leads – anyone with even a sliver of information should call the Chino Hills Police Department at (909) 364-2000 or stay anonymous by dialing the We-Tip Hotline at 1-800-78CRIME, as per the sheriff's dispatch.
Luck was on the side of the employees and customers as no one got hurt in the circus, police said, but the bad guy is still on the lam and the heat is on. Deputies and detectives have been canvassing the scene, collecting whatever evidence was left behind; with the cash gone and the bandit in the wind, it’s a race against time to close the net, officials noted.
The Sheriff-Coroner, Shannon D. Dicus, has put out the call for anyone with information to come forward.
