
Tragedy struck the city of Hawthorne yesterday morning when gunfire erupted on a quiet residential street, leaving two men shot, one fatally. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department reported that their Homicide detectives are working alongside the Hawthorne Police Department to untangle this horrific event that unfolded at approximately 11:27 a.m. on the 2000 block of 120th Street.
Details remain sparse as investigators to piece together the circumstances that led to the shooting. Both male victims were rushed to a local hospital. One man was pronounced dead upon arrival, the other's condition remains a mystery. The names of the victims have not been disclosed and information about the shooter or shooters is still out of reach to the public.
Lieutenant Reynaga from the Homicide Bureau is leading the charge, though no arrests have been announced at this juncture.
