Chaos unfolded in a quiet neighborhood when deputies responded to a reported hit and run in the 20800 block of Dappled Ridge Way. They were met with a web of deceit, as a woman intentionally misled the officers about her involvement in the accident. Amari Kristani Mann, however, would soon realize that her attempt to cover the tracks would lead her straight to the Harris County Jail.
Mann spun a story landing herself in the driver's seat of the at-fault vehicle, possibly aiming to protect the real suspect caught by video surveillance fleeing the scene. According to the Facebook post by Constable Mark Herman's Office, the footage told a different tale, showcasing a male suspect ditching the car and running off post-collision.
Constable Mark Herman didn't mince words when announcing the arrest. "Amari Kristani Mann was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with False Report To A Peace Officer," he stated, with the stark finality of the charges against her hanging heavily in the air.
