Houstonians can expect a cool and pleasant week ahead as forecasters predict a stretch of dry weather with minimal chances of rain. According to the National Weather Service's Houston/Galveston office, the city will experience mostly clear skies overnight with temperatures dipping to a low of around 41 degrees. Sunday is anticipated to be sunny with highs hovering near the 60-degree mark, and a consistent north wind around 10 mph.
Moving through the week, sunny days with incrementally rising temperatures are on the deck. Monday promises sunshine and a high of approximately 64 degrees, while during the serene nighttime, the weather will partially cloud over with a low of around 45 degrees. The NWS Storm Prediction Center, out of Norman, OK, specified that thunderstorms are not on the Monday menu. Their recent forecast discussion pointed out "no thunderstorm areas forecast" and a "negligible" potential for buoyancy across the continental United States, meaning thunder is not expected, as per SPC.
The outlook for Tuesday through Friday remains partly sunny to mostly sunny, with highs gradually climbing to near 69 degrees by Friday. It's not until the weekend that Houston sees a shift in the pattern. The city will be facing a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Friday night and those odds increase to 50 percent on Saturday. The NWS Houston shared on X, the beginning of next weekend could be punctuated by rain chances returning.
Expect cool and breezy weather tonight with lows generally in the mid 30s/40s. Sunday will be warmer with highs reaching the mid 50s/60s. Warmer, drier and quiet weather can be expected throughout much of the upcoming work week. Rain chances return next weekend. #HOUwx #TXwx pic.twitter.com/4wt5YEhPcr

Houston's weather stage is set for a breezy and comfortable period, with the low temperatures expected in the mid-30s to 40s tonight, warming up in the daytime to a more generous mid-50s to 60s. As we flip the calendar into February, Houston's residents will need to keep their umbrellas at hand, as the clear skies take their bow and the possibility of rain makes a grand return to the forecast.
