
Houstonians are experiencing the last burst of weekend warmth before an arctic cold front brings Monday. Today swings to a sunny high near 63, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight, the mercury starts to plunge with an even colder Sunday, with highs struggling to brush the mid-40s.
Sunday night, a spit of rain and lows around 35. On Monday, a slight chance of rain before 7 am, then a chance of showers after 7 am, the National Weather Service forecasts, under gloomy clouds and highs barely reaching 37, there is a north wind at 10 to 15 mph, and some gusts hitting 20 mph.
Looking ahead, the Storm Prediction Center advises no severe thunderstorms are expected on Sunday as a broad upper-level trough holds over the country.
Tuesday morning, temperatures will be between 21 and 24 degrees, says the Houston Chronicle. And on Wednesday, the sun dares to bring highs back to a more bearable 46 degrees. Next Thursday, temperatures might climb to a more hospitable 60 degrees.
