Houston authorities are digging into the mysterious death of a 59-year-old man who passed away shortly after seeking emergency care for difficulty breathing. The man, whose name has not been released, died in the early hours of Saturday at 14476 Hillcroft Avenue, and now the Houston police are on the case, waiting for an autopsy to shed light on the cause of his untimely demise.
According to the details shared by City of Houston News, the incident began unfolding on Friday evening when the man arrived at an emergency room around 8:35 p.m. He told the medical staff that he had been assaulted earlier that evening at an address on Zenith Street. Despite receiving treatment for his complaints of shortness of breath, the man became unresponsive by the next morning and was pronounced dead.
Sergeant M. Cass and Detective Wallschlaeger of the HPD Homicide Division are leading the investigation. Currently, the examination hinges on the results of the postmortem carried out by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, who are in the process of verifying the man's identity and the exact cause of his death.
